Mike V. Ramp
If you’re familiar with Mike Vallely’s career you know he’s been a pro a long time and has traveled the globe spreading the skate love! I was a little guy rocking his pro model kicks at one point. Well, now he’s got a pro model FreshPark kicker ramp! It’s less than $300 for a sweet kicker you can fold up and take with you anywhere! There’s obviously cheaper kicker options, like building your own, but if you got the coin and want something top notch and portable you’d be hard pressed to beat this option. And it’s got a sweet Mike V. graphic on it.
Not only that but here’s the best part. Freshpark, for those of you who don’t know, is the brainchild of Roger Hickey an O.G. skater from the good old days when skateboarding was whatever you could find to ride with 4 wheels. Be sure you get a subscription to The Skateboarders Journal magazine so you can read the “Legends of the Downhill…interviews with Denis Shufeldt, Roger Hickey and Kevin Reimer.” Roger collaborated with Jack Smith to throw the first Skatercross event last year in Morro Bay, CA which brought out some of the gnarliest riders for a downhill obstacle course of Freshpark ramps. All that to say that this is a killer collaboration and company very worth supporting!

Here’s some history for ya about Freshpark. Just goes to show that skateboarding is skateboarding, and there’s been guys around long before the rest of the world started arguing about wether or not longboarding is new or different. This goes way back, and guys like Jack Smith and Roger Hickey gladly laugh at the argument. Learn some history, it’s good for you!
